High Flow Acrylic Fluid Art Pour Paintings created using a kitchen Colander as a pouring tool can give you outstanding results. They can produce such beguiling geometric yet organic patterns on the canvas.
Colander Pour Paintings are mesmerising to watch as they are tilted to stretch the paint. They can look like fluid stained glass windows as the geometry of the paint starts to roll and deform.
Colander Pours present a very specific challenge. Tilting of some sort is required to stretch our the paint, develop cells and prevent too much paint being left on the canvas as this can lead to cracking as the art work dries.
But at the same time, in tilting you lose the striking geometry the colander produced.
This is the conundrum. To Tilt or not to Tilt?
Even with tilting the results of a colander piece can be breathtaking.
